Cuisine Indian
- 1 medium Boiled Potato roughly mashed or cut into very small pieces
- 1 small Onion finely chopped
- 2 tablespoons Tomato finely chopped
- 1/2 Green Chilli slit lengthwise and finely chopped
- 1 tablespoon Fresh Coriander Leaves finely chopped, including the tender stems for extra flavour
- 2 tablespoons Aloo Bhujia crushed, optional but highly recommended for crunch
- 1/4 teaspoon Chaat Masala can be substituted with fresh lemon juice
- A pinch of Red Chilli Powder
- Salt to taste
- Optional: 1 teaspoon Grated Raw Mango Kairi for extra tanginess
Step 1: Prep the Potato: Take a mixing bowl and add your boiled potato. You can either cut it into very small pieces or roughly mash it with your hands.
Step 2: Add the Veggies: To the mashed potato, add the finely chopped onion, tomatoes, and green chillies. Make sure the onion is chopped as small as possible for the best texture in this Spicy Indian Potato Side Dish Recipe.
Step 3: Add Freshness and Crunch: Toss in the fresh coriander leaves. Next, add the crushed aloo bhujia (savoury potato snack) for that perfect crunchy element.
Step 4: Spice it Up: Sprinkle salt to taste, a pinch of red chilli powder, and the chaat masala. If you don't have chaat masala, a quick squeeze of lemon juice works beautifully.
Step 5: Mix and Serve: Gently mix everything together until the spices and vegetables are well combined with the potato. Serve fresh alongside your main meal!
