Cuisine Indian
- 1 medium Cucumber peeled and grated
- 1/2 medium Onion finely chopped
- 1 small Tomato finely chopped
- 1 Green Chilli slit and chopped
- 2 tablespoons Roasted Peanuts coarsely crushed
- Fresh Coriander Leaves finely chopped, including tender stems
- A pinch of Powdered Sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon Lemon Juice
- Salt to taste
Prepare the Cucumber: Wash, peel, and grate one medium cucumber. Do not squeeze out its natural water; keep the juices intact for the most authentic and refreshing Cucumber Side Dish Recipe.
Add the Veggies: In a mixing bowl, add the grated cucumber, finely chopped onion, chopped green chilli, and chopped tomatoes. Give everything a gentle mix.
Add the Crunch: Toss in the coarsely crushed roasted peanuts. This adds a fantastic, nutty crunch to the soft vegetables.
Season the Salad: Add a pinch of powdered sugar and the freshly chopped coriander leaves. Squeeze in just a few drops of lemon juice (about half a teaspoon or less) for a tangy kick.
Add Salt Before Serving: Add salt to taste only when you are ready to eat. Mixing salt too early will make the cucumber release too much water.
Mix and Serve: Give everything a final good mix and serve your refreshing cucumber side dish immediately!
