Cuisine Indian
- 7-8 thick Pineapple slices cut into small chunks
- 1 medium Onion chopped into slightly large pieces
- 1 small Tomato finely chopped
- 1 Green Chilli finely chopped
- 1-2 teaspoon Raw Mango / Kairi finely chopped – just a little to avoid making it too sour
- Fresh Coriander leaves chopped, for garnish
- Salt to taste
- ½ tablespoon of your favourite Salad Masala
- A tiny pinch of Sugar
Salad Masala For Extra Flavour:
- 1 tsp Red Chilli Powder
- 1/4 Black Salt
- 1/2 tsp Sugar Powder
- 1/2 tsp Chaat Masala Powder
- 1/4 tsp Roasted Cumin Powder
- Salt to taste
- 1/2 tsp Amchur Powder
- Fried Curry Leaves
Step 1: Prep the Pineapple. Start by taking your pineapple slices and chopping them into bite-sized chunks. Place them in a large mixing bowl.
Step 2: Add the Onion. Add the chopped medium onion to the bowl. Keep the pieces slightly large so they offer a nice crunch alongside the pineapple. Mix them well.
Step 3: Toss in the Tomato. Add the chopped small tomato to the pineapple and onion mixture. Give it a gentle mix.
Step 4: Add the Spice and Tang. Toss in the finely chopped green chilli and the raw mango (kairi). Be careful not to add too much raw mango, so the salad doesn't become overly sour.
Step 5: Season the Salad. Add freshly chopped coriander leaves, salt to taste, half a teaspoon of masala, and a tiny pinch of sugar to beautifully balance all the flavours.
Step 6: Final Mix. Stir everything together thoroughly so the spices coat the pineapple chunks evenly. Your delicious Quick Indian Pineapple Salad Recipe is ready to be enjoyed!
