- 3 medium potatoes peeled, washed, and sliced into thin rounds
- 1 tablespoon butter like Amul butter
- 1 teaspoon of oil
- 1 teaspoon red chilli powder
- Salt to taste
- Optional: 1 teaspoon crushed garlic
- Optional: Cumin-coriander powder or garam masala
Step 1: Heat the Pan. Place a pan on medium heat. Add 1 teaspoon of oil first.
Step 2: Melt the Butter. Add 1 tablespoon of butter. The oil prevents the butter from burning. If you are using crushed garlic, you can add it now.
Step 3: Add Potatoes. Add your 3 thinly sliced potatoes to the pan and spread them out evenly.
Step 4: Cook on Medium Heat. Sauté the potatoes for about 4 minutes on medium flame. Keep stirring gently so they cook evenly and turn a beautiful golden colour.
Step 5: Add Spices. Once the potatoes are soft and cooked, add salt to taste and 1 teaspoon of red chilli powder. You can also add Kanda Lasun Masala at this stage.
Step 6: Final Sauté. Mix everything well and cook for another 2 to 3 minutes until the spices perfectly coat the potato slices. Your Quick Batata Kachrya Recipe is ready to serve!
