Quick Fluffy Dhokla Recipe

Make Dhokla for breakfast. It's a very easy recipe. The Dhokla will be very soft. Make Dhokla this way and it won't fail.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 bowl of water
  • 1/2 tsp of Citric acid
  • 1/2 tbsp of powdered sugar
  • Salt to taste
  • 2 tbsp of oil
  • 1 Cup of corn flour
  • 2 tbsp gram flour sieved
  • 1/2 tbsp of baking soda
  • Water added to the soda

For tempering:

  • Oil
  • 1 small spoonful of mustard seeds
  • A Pinch of Hing asafetida
  • 2-3 Green chillies
  • Curry leaves
  • Water
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • Coriander leaves for garnish

Instructions
 

  • In a bowl. Mix water, Citric acid, and powdered sugar until well combined.
  • Add salt and mix well. Then add oil and mix it well.
  • Add corn flour gradually to avoid lumps.
  • Sieve and add gram flour, mixing until smooth.
  • Add baking soda with a bit of water and mix quickly.
  • Pour the batter into an oiled container.
  • Steam in a preheated pot for 20 minutes on medium heat without opening the lid.
  • Check for doneness by inserting a knife in the centre. If it comes out clean, the dhokla is ready.
  • Let it cool before removing from the container.
  • For the tempering, heat oil and add mustard seeds, asafoetida (hing), green chillies, and curry leaves. Saute for a minute.
  • Add water, salt, and sugar, and let it simmer.
  • Pour the tempering over the dhokla.
  • Garnish with coriander leaves and serve.
  • Enjoy your homemade, fluffy Dhokla.
