We all like Poha. Today, I have made a different type of it, in which I have used cucumber and fresh coconut. You will really like this recipe, do try it. It is very easy to make and gets ready quickly. Thin Poha Breakfast Recipe.
Ingredients:
- 200 gm Thin poha (flattened rice) (The main ingredient, ensure it’s the thin variety)
- 1 Medium-sized cucumber, peeled and finely chopped
- 1 Medium-sized onion, finely chopped
- 1 Small tomato, finely chopped
- Coriander leaves
- 1/2 cup grated fresh coconut
- 1 tbsp powdered sugar (adjust to taste)
- Salt to taste
- 1/2 Lemon Juice
Tadka or tempering or seasoning :
- 2 tbsp oil
- 1 tsp cumin seeds
- 1/2 inch ginger
- Pinch of hing powder (asafoetida)
- Green chillies
- Curry leaves

Instructions:
- Ensure the thin poha is clean and ready to use.
- In a mixing bowl, add the chopped cucumber, onion, tomato, coriander leaves, and grated fresh coconut and mix well.
- Add powdered sugar and salt to the mixture. Mix thoroughly.
- Heat oil in a tadka pan, add cumin seeds, ginger, asafoetida (hing powder), green chillies, and curry leaves. Saute well.
- Add the prepared tempering to the poha mixture. Ensure it cools slightly before adding.
- Squeeze lemon juice over the mixture.
- Use your hands to mix everything together gently but thoroughly, ensuring the flavours combine well.
- The Patal Poha is ready to serve.
- Optional : You can also add coconut water for a different twist.
