We make various types of parathas for children’s breakfast and tiffin. Children love to eat parathas. Today, we have made a delicious paratha using poha and potato, which children will eat with pleasure. It is very easy to make and very tasty. Do try it, you will like it very much.
Ingredients:
- 2 medium-sized boiled and grated potatoes
- 1 cup of poha (flattened rice), washed and drained
- 1 cup of spring onion
- Some coriander leaves
- 1 small finely chopped onion
- ½ tsp turmeric powder
- 1 tsp cumin-coriander powder
- 1 tsp garam masala powder
- Salt to taste
- 1 tsp (green chilli, ginger and garlic cloves) paste
- A pinch of asafoetida (hing)
- ½ tsp carom seeds (ajwain)
- 1 tbsp besan (gram flour)
- Wheat flour
- Oil for cooking

Instructions:
- In a bowl, combine the grated potatoes, poha (flattened rice), spring onion, coriander, and chopped onion.
- Add turmeric powder, cumin-coriander powder, garam masala powder, salt, (green chilli and ginger-garlic) paste, asafoetida, and carom seeds.
- Mix all the ingredients well.
- Add besan (gram flour), gradually add wheat flour and mix without adding water.
- Add a little water if needed and knead into a soft dough.
- Apply some oil on the dough.
- Take a portion of the dough and roll it into a paratha.
- Heat an iron tawa and spread some oil on it. Cook the paratha until golden brown on both sides.
- Serve hot with yogurt and chutney.
- Optional: Add ½ tsp dry mango powder.
