Special Paratha For Kids | Paratha Recipe

Paratha made using poha (flattened rice) and potato for kids' tiffin. Do try it.

Ingredients
  

  • 2 medium-sized boiled and grated potatoes
  • 1 cup of poha flattened rice, washed and drained
  • 1 cup of spring onion
  • Some coriander leaves
  • 1 small finely chopped onion
  • ½ tsp turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp cumin-coriander powder
  • 1 tsp garam masala powder
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 tsp (green chilli, ginger and garlic cloves) paste
  • A pinch of asafoetida hing
  • ½ tsp carom seeds ajwain
  • 1 tbsp besan gram flour
  • Wheat flour
  • Oil for cooking

Instructions
 

  • In a bowl, combine the grated potatoes, poha (flattened rice), spring onion, coriander, and chopped onion.
  • Add turmeric powder, cumin-coriander powder, garam masala powder, salt, green chilli and ginger-garlic paste, asafoetida, and carom seeds.
  • Mix all the ingredients well.
  • Add besan (gram flour), gradually add wheat flour and mix without adding water.
  • Add a little water if needed and knead into a soft dough.
  • Apply some oil on the dough.
  • Take a portion of the dough and roll it into a paratha.
  • Heat an iron tawa and spread some oil on it. cook the paratha until golden brown on both sides.
  • Serve hot with yogurt and chutney.
  • Optional : Add ½ tsp dry mango powder.
