Tomato and peas chutney is very easy to make and is also delicious. You can even take this chutney in a lunchbox.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup of fresh peas
  • 1 tbsp oil
  • 1 tsp mustard seeds
  • 1 tsp cumin seeds
  • Curry leaves
  • 2 medium-sized onions chopped
  • A pinch of asafoetida powder hing
  • 1/4 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1 tbsp ginger-garlic and green chilli paste
  • Salt to taste
  • 250 gm chopped tomatoes
  • 1 tsp coriander-cumin powder
  • 1 tsp garam masala powder
  • 1 tsp red chilli powder both color and spicy
  • 3 tbsp roasted groundnut powder
  • Chopped coriander leaves

Instructions
 

  • Heat a pan and roast the peas until they get dark spots.
  • Remove the peas and heat oil in the same pan, add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, and curry leaves.
  • Add chopped onions and saute them well.
  • Add asafoetida powder, turmeric powder, and the crushed ginger-garlic-green chilli paste.
  • Saute for 1-2 minutes on medium heat.
  • Lightly crush the roasted peas.
  • Add the crushed peas to the pan and mix well.
  • Add salt and chopped tomatoes, then mix well.
  • Add coriander-cumin powder, garam masala powder, and red chilli powder. mix it well.
  • Add roasted groundnut powder and mix thoroughly.
  • Cover the pan and let it cook on low heat for 5-7 minutes.
  • Garnish with chopped coriander leaves.
  • Enjoy your delicious, Tasty Tomato Peas Chutney.
